Both Basic and Advanced Camps are offered for new, intermediate, and veteran officials. Focus is on High School mechanics, floor positioning, and being in the right spot at the right time to make the right call.

Beau Rugg, OHSAA Director of Officiating and Sport Management
“I heartily encourage officials to participate in camps and clinics. I really like the Rising Star Basketball Officiating Camps because they focus on the mechanics and rules that we emphasize at the OHSAA. I also like the quality of the instructors and clinicians at this particular camp.”

Denny Morris, DPM OHSAA Director of Officiating Development for Basketball
As the OHSAA Director of Officiating Development for Basketball, I have attended both the Basic and Advanced Rising Star Officiating camps and walked away encouraged by the development of the officials participating in the camps. Numerous officials are normally identified as capable in advancing to the Varsity level with others deserving of a look to receive Tournament assignments.
The instructors and clinicians are second to none as they work with you on and off the court and are constantly teaching you the mechanics, positioning and thought process of each call or no call.
The Advanced camp is unique as the instructors are Division 1 Collegiate officials who integrate the High school game with the appropriate collegiate philosophies to further enhance your development and skills.
